How does everyone already know where they're going?

It seems like all the people I talk to in the states already have all their offers in and know exactly where they're going in the fall. Why haven't I heard from any of the schools I've applied to yet?

I live in Germany, American citizen, and I applied to:
Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Georgetown, Tufts, Northeastern, Wesleyan.

Do these schools just not tell people before April?

Gah. I'm dying of suspense and I have a month to go.
I want to go to sleep and wake up in April.

That confused me too at first- I'm an American citizen in England. People who have heard either applied Early Decision/Action or have received an early 'write' (if they are the top applicants).

Don't worry, its normal not to hear anything until late March/ early April, especially if you do not live near many alumni and therefore wouldn't get an interview.
