fashion institute of design and merchandising.. it's more expensive i think, but i want to see what people think. i'm interested in fashion design thanks

I am a first year Merchandising & Marketing student at FIDM in LA. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you much about the Fashion Design program but I can help you out a little in other areas....

CAMPUS
FIDM has four campuses. LA, OC, San Diego, and San Francisco. I attend the LA campus and have visited the OC campus. I love both. The OC building is absolutely beautiful, clean, and new. You can view more pictures here... http://fidm.com/about/campuses/orange-county/index.html. The LA campus is located in Downtown, blocks away from the California Mart, Fashion District, Staples center, and new restaurants. It is really growing and a great place to be right now.

QUARTERS:
Classes at FIDM run on a quarter schedules, not semester. This is very much a good thing. A lot of the classes here are very intense and require a lot of work so many of the students here enjoy working hard through the quarters and then enjoying the break for several weeks. You kind of never burn out because you have that gap!

INTERNSHIPS:
One of the greatest perks FIDM has to offer is their unlimited resources! On your first day of classes, your career advisor is there for you to start the hunt for a job that is right for you... while you are still in school. Internships are available during your second year and it is the BEST way to get experience and build your resume.

Well, hope this helps! These are just a few of the reasons I enjoy FIDM, so I thought I'd share. Good Luck!
