How does GPA, class rank, and SAT factor into ivy league admissions?

Hi this is my first time doing this. So please excuse any mistakes.

I was wondering my public school of about 450 does class ranking according by weighted GPA. The GPA scale is out of 100.000.

I am a junior.
My weighted GPA is high because I have taken a lot of AP classes, so my class rank is also high. But my unweighted GPA is low (~92). According to my guidance counselor that is equivalent to a 3.6. Since I am a junior, I can make my unweighted GPA by the time of application near (~92.5 - 93.5) so between 3.7 - 3.8. However my weighted is closee to a 100 (about a 99), not sure what it is on a 4.0 scale (maybe 4.4-4.6).

My highest SAT practice test is 2260.

So all this to say, i want to know whether HYP , other ivy leagues and the top 15-20 colleges care more about my class rank/ weighted GPA or my unweighted GPA? And if they care more about unweighted, will a >2300 SAT overshadow this? (Considering ECs, recommendations, etc. are great).

Thanks in advance. I appreciate any help. And it would be great to hear from actual adcom officers. And if I come off to sound smug, I am sorry (i have found some threads with that effect), it's just that i am spazzing out about colleges.

I believe class rank and transcript are usually considered the most important, and SAT scores are weighted less. But the admissions process is holistic, so they will take all the different parts of your application into account

The individual schools plainly speak about their criteria for evaluation. You’ll learn a lot perusing their info

Thanks for the replies. T26E4, where can i find this info for each school?

I tried googling it but only found a chart where different factors are shown to have varying “importance” (very important, important, considered, not considered). Is that what you meant? These charts do clarify my issue a bit, but are still not distinct in priority. I found these charts at [CollegeData: College Search, Financial Aid, College Application, College Scholarship, Student Loan, FAFSA Info, Common Application](http://www.collegedata.com).

Look at the Common Data Set for each school, section C7.

Google search for “Common Data set for _____” (Harvard, Yale, Stanford etc.)

It will tell you how they weight different factors and the 25-75 %iles for standardized testing.

From what I feel, once you reach a certain range with GPA, class rank, and SAT, it’s all based on subjective things (for top ivies, I believe). I could be wrong.

It’s important to be considered, but to be accepted is another matter. My AP economics teacher who went to Princeton and had friends in the admissions office said that the college often takes canidates of less caliber over those of higher caliber if they need them for certain organizations. Remember, it’s not about what you want, it’s about what the college wants. If they really need a tuba player for band, and you fit that bill and have fairly impressive grades to boot, you’d get in.

I looked at the common data sets. For example, Yale says that class rank and GPA are both “very/most important”. So considering my low unweighted GPA but high weighted GPA/relatively high class rank - which one will Yale put more emphasis on or which one will they prefer to look at (if that makes sense)?

Rank. The majority of unhooked students at ivies other thsn Cornell were top 2 in their high school class.

Ok so i just want to confirm if anyone else would like to help: do ivy leagues/ top tier colleges take my weighted class rank into account first, and then my unweighted GPA (will my unweighted GPA weigh me down in the eyes of the admission officers)? Thanks for the help you guys.
