My high school didn't calculate GPA on a 4.0 scale or anything like that, so I'm not sure how it works. How does a college calculate a GPA out of 4.0?
I'll be at NYU by the way, idk if it varies between schools. Thanks.

Multiply the number of credits for each course by
the grade points assigned to each grade earned.

Total the grade points earned for all courses
(including failures).

Divide the total grade points by the number of credits attempted.

Grade points would be A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.

Many schools also dont do "in between grades". You either get an A, B, C, D or F. However that practice is dying out.
