<p>Does housing work on a first come first serve basis? So people who put down their deposit first get first choice on what dorm they get to live in (if they get to choose at all)?</p>
<p>Also, how are roommates assigned?</p>
<p>Housing is not first-come, first-serve unless you’re admitted to McGill after the mid-June deadline; as long as you pay your deposit by that deadline, though, you’re guaranteed a space in res, and after you rank your choices and fill out the roommate questionnaire, the hall assignments are done by lottery.
