Okay, im about to turn in my enrollment and i was wondering how do they determine who gets what housing if they dont send the application out until may. Is it just totally random?

From the friends I've spoken with at NYU, they seem to think it is pretty random, but the sooner you turn in your housing information the better. Depending on what dorm you want (or if it even matters to you), the earlier the better! The woman I spoke with at NYU (an undergrad admissions advisor) said that the sooner you submit your enrollment, the faster you'll receive the housing info, the sooner you can submit your request for housing... so I think what happens is that the office collects a certain amount of housing apps and that pile gets done first; then another pile forms after the early birds are dealt with. Make sense?

housing forms are all done online. yes, it is a good idea to submit everything as soon as you can, but housing freshmen yr is completely random unless you are an early decision applicant (they get first priority)

housing is due june 1??

My d has sent in her acceptance. Does she select her housing online? I don't understand

i dun think the order of housing app will matter, atleast for ED ppl

When you send in your acceptance, you'll get the info on housing re: prioritizing your choices. This, however, will NOT affect when your housing is assigned.

Jules, it doesn't work that way. It matters not at all when you turn it in as long as it's by the deadline. Yes, the sooner you submit your acceptance, the sooner you'll receive your housing info but when you then submit it doesn't matter in terms of when assignments are made. It's done randomly, unless specific roommate requests are made by both individuals, and everyone will receive their assignments in late July/early August.

i already sent in my tution deposit.. i heard that the housing deposit is due june 1st.. is that true? if so can i still send in a housing deposit even if ive already sent in my tuition deposit?

Do you enter your housing requests on the NYU homepage that you make? My d doesn't have anything to access there.
