How does interest on subsizides loans work if I go to graduate school

I understand that for subsidized loans no interest will begin to accrue until I’m 6 months after I graduate. What I’m curious about, however, is whether or not interest will start to accrue if I go on to graduate school right out of undergrad, or not until I get out of graduate school?

thank you!

You will not lose the interest subsidy if you are at lease half-time student in a qualified program

Be sure to read the info in the link above. The rules are not so simple, and it is important to know what will happen in with your loans.

Wow, so I would really not accrue interest until after grad school? This almost seems too good to be true =)

read the fine print but i went to college and grad school quite some time ago and did not have interest accrue on the loans while in grad school full time. in fact, i took a year off in grad school too. i know i needed to start paying the loans back for the second half of that year off. if i remember right, when i returned to school, i don’t think the loans accrued any more interest after i went back to school. could be wrong on that last point though.
