I am currently a junior in high school trying to figure out my top choices for college. I was wondering if having experience as an international student could help my chances at top universities.

I lived overseas (SE Asia) for four years from 6th-9th grade and I have had multiple people (teachers/counselors...) tell me that it can be very beneficial to show that you are "diverse and multi-cultural."

It gives you the advantage of experience. Colleges know you are fairly independent because you were able to live outside the country for a while (assuming your parents didn’t move there with you). Otherwise it’s a small push like the previous poster said.
