how does it feel to still be number 2

and even after beating the number one team in the nation. and in a ranking system that is proven to be biased aganst pac 10 schools. so sad...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/abcsports/BCSStandings

Those rankings are from December. Texas is now ranked #1.

do they teach you how to read in texas? pay attention to the second website, notice the records: USC is 12-1 and ranked #1, while ut is 13-0 and ranked #2

who cares? texas won...lol

those standings are old, only the records have been updated....how would oregon, notre dame, georgia, and miami be 5-8 if they all lost!?

Actually the BCS doesn't produce a poll after the bowl games are played. Only AP and USA today do. and we are now ranked #1 in both of those polls. the second link you gave is the December BCS ranking with the updated school records. Why would Miami, who lost 40-3 to the LSU Tigers in thier BCS game, be ranked four spots ahead of LSU? The national champion is determined by 2 things: 1) the winner of the national championship BCS game and 2) the team that is ranked #1 in the final AP poll. For instance, back in 2003, LSU won the national championship game, but USC was ranked number 1 in the final AP poll. That allowed USC to share the national championship with LSU. That being said, the longhorns are the undisputed national champions. we won the national championship game and are ranked #1 in the final AP poll. and USC is not ranked #1 in some non-existant post bowl game BCS poll. but i guess if USC is #1 to you, then thats really all that matters.

Well, BCS is just an average of AP, Harris, and computer rank. Which are all still determined after the season is over. So, if there were a BCS poll, that's what it would say. So, technically if a BCS rank existed after the BCS championship game, yes USC would still be ranked #1.

no, usc wouldn't be #1, because even before the game texas was #1 in the computers and usc #2, and texas is now #1 in the AP poll, and i'm sure in the harris poll too if they did it after the championship. so texas is #1. chill out usc fans, you lost and you know it.

I'm not saying they didn't lose. And, no, USC is #1 in the Harris poll. Do the math, find the average. SC would be ranked higher.

Actually there is no post bowl game harris poll either.

ok...the harris poll is not computers, it's a bunch of like maybe former coaches and broadcasters, and just people in general who know about football. yes, usc was #1 when they took the last harris poll on dec 4. but if a bcs poll was taken after the game, a harris poll would be taken after the game too. on the dec 4 bcs poll, for the computer average, texas was #1, and usc was #2, so that would definitely stay the same after the championship. in the usa today poll after the championship, texas was #1, and usc #2. so if you find the average for after the championship, texas would be #1 regardless of what the harris voters did, and they too would vote texas #1.

ok ok children you win. too bad vince young is leaving though. you know, he produced over 80% of total offensive yardage in the rosebowl? thats pathetic, you team's a one-man circus freak show.

Dude, Matt Nordgren (2nd string UT QB) is a beast! who else can bounce a football out of his hands on the way to the in-zone and catch it again in mid-air and continue along his merry way. i'll tell ya who can't: Vince Young. I see matt nordgren bringing UT to a level of college football excellence that has never been surpassed by any football team ever!

at least that one-man circus freak show beat your supposedly awesome usc two-man show....not so great anymore huh

atleast im not from texas

i'm not either...good one

Dun't y'all stress non ya hee-ar, cus UTexas iz alwaz #1 in cow tipping!

i am really from Texas. and i also like to condemn alternative lifestyles. no kidding. that's why i don't like californians.

Don't be rude when you are wrong. Those websites are both outdated. Texas and USC are both ranked #1 in at least 3 different polls each.

"(Sports Network) - The Texas Longhorns finished atop the final Associated Press top 25 college football poll following their dramatic 41-38 victory over Southern California at the Rose Bowl Wednesday night.

It's the first time Texas has finished No. 1 in the AP poll since 1969. This time, they were the unanimous choice."

Its over man, Vince Young's little swimmers broke right through the Trojans.
