How Does JHU calculate unweighted/weighted GPA?

Every university seems to do it differently. Does it include freshman year? How many classes can be given the AP/honors bump? Does it look at pluses and minuses?

[Questions about GPA / Class rank](http://forums.hopkins-interactive.com/topic/6676323/1/)

When we are filling out the Common Application, what GPA do we put down? Unweighted? (9-12, 10-12, 10-11, 9-11: WHICH ONE?) Weighted? (Do I put the weight to all my AP/honors classes?)

We do not review self-reported GPAs so we do not care what you post on the Common Application.

Is there a separate form where we enter the grades we received for each course (I don’t see one on the common application) or does JHU want us to send in a transcript along with our application (some schools only want the transcript after admission…)?

When applying to Johns Hopkins University you must have an official transcript submitted by your high school. We do not review a student’s self-reported grades. We need official records. You may want to review our list of requirements if you plan to apply to Johns Hopkins: [Johns Hopkins University Office of Undergraduate Admissions - Apply - Deadlines and Requirements](http://apply.jhu.edu/apply/deadlines.html)

Thank you so much for your speedy responses. I did plan to apply; however my 10-12 UW GPA is rather weak for a competitive school like JHU…so I’m on the fence right now.
