My mom went to columbia undergrad and grad and I was wondering how much Columbia takes legacy into account.

my dad went to columbia undergrad and is an alumni interviewer...as far as getting an advantage..it really helps if u applied early...regular round doesnt help as much but as long as u demonstrate a strong interest in the school and not because ur parents went then itll def. help....another plus is that u get an interview with an admissions officer on campus...usually what people say is that if ur tied with someone for a spot and you have legacy..theyll give it to the legacy..anyways thats my two cents

my uncle attended Columbia....you think that will give me a slight boost? or is it just parents

columbia only asks for undergrad parents so unless he is a big donor im not suer how ull be able to let them know about ur uncle

My friend was a double legacy at Columbia (Both parents), had a 4.0 and a 1450 SAT. He's also 100% Columbian. He got Rejected ED.

Take it for what you will...

100% Columbian or 100% Colombian?

legacy doesnt guarantee admission, it raises your chances so apparently that Columbian kid got the shorter end of the stick

100% Colombian....Haha wow I hate it when i make that mistake

Yeah, I've been ridiculed for it before. :)

wow, it's really not that big of a deal

lol well, we know what's on your mind :)
