My senior year has been nothing but a huge disappointment and a period of perpetual unhappiness. Not academically, but socially. Things were so drastically different the time last year. The friends that I thought would make my senior year have basically forgotten about me. I go to school and I just feel so out of place. My self esteem is in the toilet. I really do want to enjoy my senior year, but whenever I do try to go out and socialize I inevitably end up sadder than before.
People have told me that after high school, all the problems you have now practically shrink to nothing, and that's basically what I've been repeating to myself as a source of consolation. Is this true? If anybody has been in my position, can you describe how life changed for you after high school and how everything turned out okay even though you were so sure that it wouldn't? It would really help me a lot in the place that I'm in right now.
Thanks :)

I’m still in high school at the moment, but I still know that it’ll get better when once get to college. Plenty of new people, a new environment, and new freedoms – you’ll definitely find your place and have great opportunities You’re in your last year of high school and these people won’t matter anymore once you’re out of there, just hang in there, you’ve come this far.

thank you @GUsm14
