How does manzanita compare?

Hey guys, so i applied for manzanita to be my first choice dorm but i havent really heard anything about it. im wondering how it compares to the other residence halls. could someone give me like a general list of how the dorms are ranked or something?

I like Manzanita. I'm not sure whether I want to put Francisco Torres as my first preference or Manzanita, Global Living floor.. Hmmm

Manzanita probably is the nicest facility since it is the newest. The rooms are quite large and the "semi-private" bathrooms are pretty nice as well. On the down side, you probably won't meet very many people.

I can tell you from first hand experince. I lived in Manzanita this year as a freshman. Manzanita has really clean rooms and everything seems new and nice. The bathrooms stay clean depending on who your hallmates are... you get to go into the bathroom and lock the door = all the privacy you need. As far as the rooms goes they're okay. They're a good size.. I lived in a triple and we had enough room for a three girls. Something worth mentioning is you get turn the heater on or off whenever you want. My friend lives over in old San Nic and her heater doesn't work at all. There's no air conditioning but you won't need.

Some the down sides is when it rains and the frogs come out you'll get to hear them all through the rainy season. You aren't really close to the center of college, so that can be a problem. The closes set of classes is HSSB, and the closest dining hall is Carillo. That can be a downside if you have to work all the way to the chemistry buildings or if you ever get tired of eating at carillo. (they really need to build a bridge from carillo to the otherside of the lagoon.) Uhmm... don't know what else to say but if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask me. :D

Oh... yeah forget to mention that if your the social type and want to meet the majority of the freshman class.. choose FT. I would've given up all of manzanita good things to be at FT. Their dining hall sucks but they have their pool and workout center. If you dont mind walking about a mile to campus choose FT.

If you want to meet people, do not live in Manz. It's predominately second and third years in the area who already have their own friends to hang with.
