Hi! I’m a rising senior at a top New England boarding school. I’m really interested in staying on the East Coast and going to school in an urban environment (I grew up in Boston and am really interested in the jobs/internships, as well as the arts and culture, that cities offer). I’ve been doing a lot of college research over the summer and it would be really helpful if you could give me some pointers on my college list, or suggestions for more safety and match schools!

Extracurricular Info:
I’m really involved with journalism both inside and out of school. I’m a section editor for the school newspaper, and editor-in-chief of our political magazine. I have a few other leadership roles within the school (I’m president of a service club and co-president of the GSA), but mostly I’m proud of what I do outside of school. I’ve contributed articles to several well-known publications, and I started and continue to write for a Democratic political blog that has gained a lot of traction bc of its perspective (from high schoolers). Aside from writing, I play several instruments and am very interested in music – plus I have hundreds of volunteer hours; I really love working with kids and I also volunteer at an LGBT Safe Space!
Work Experience:
Last summer I did community service and translated French at a low-income school in New Orleans. I’m currently doing a summer internship at a political magazine in Boston. I’m the only high-schooler there, and this month I will hopefully start writing articles for the website! Later this summer, a couple of friends and I are traveling down to Philly and we will volunteer at the Democratic National Convention
Awards:
Aside from school awards, nothing major.
