After an entire day of researching, I've compiled a list of colleges that are within my reach. Any insight is much appreciated.

Stats:
GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1780 (Math: 590, Reading: 580, Writing: 610)
Asian-American Male

Colleges:
Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona
San Jose State University
San Diego State University
UCSC

Would you guys recommend any other schools l with a solid CS program? From what I've researched, the above five are the most popular (and practical w/ my academics). My dream school would be SLO, but from what I've heard, the sciences/engineering subjects are extremely competitive.

It’s really hard to say about these schools.

I would check the Common Data Set for each of these schools, especially SLO, SDSU, and UCSC. That will tell you the average GPA and SAT scores.

Thanks for the comment. The schools that I’ve chosen are purely based on word of mouth. I was hoping for someone with a solid knowledge of Cal States and the UC’s that would recommend some other schools or even praise some of the ones I have listed.

are you trapped in California?

Have you asked your guidance counselor or any even any teachers for recommendations on colleges with good CS programs? What other research have you done?
Have you looked at a Rugg’s Guide to Colleges?
