How does my SAT scores link to Common App?

I just submitted my application to USC and sent sent scores too, but how will they really know it’s me? Is there a code? How do they connect?

They connect based on your name. When the system receives an SAT score it links it to the application that has the exact same name. If you’ve used a different name on either of the profiles(a shortened name for example), message the college, tell them what name your scores have been reported under and send them proof that your the person whose score they received.

@RF6698 Just with name? What if someone has the same first and last name? Maybe social security number too?

Name and date of birth

Yup. What @HRSMom said. Honestly college board should allow you to add your application ID when you’re sending scores, so there’s no confusion, but they haven’t done that yet.

Wow, that seems like it would produce dups, especially since CB doesn’t even have a spot for middle name (only middle initial). There must be quite a few michael smiths born on the same day (maybe not).

So just to confirm, email address is not used at all to link the data?

Why do u think matching up name + DOB is so prone to error?

I called CB, the representative said Name, DOB, and Social Security number.
