Chem 21L (including recitation and lab)
Egr 53L (w/o lab nor recitation)
Math 103X (I will probably get a 5 on Calc BC)
Econ 55D (I've scored 5 on both Micro/Macro)
Egr 10

Is this schedule too harsh, just right, or too easy? thanks.

I'm an incoming freshman too, but from what I gather, Math 103X sounds pretty tough. I don't think you should take it if you don't genuinely enjoy math and aren't really good at non-straightforward problem solving.

I would personally say that you should try Math 103X.. you are obviously a strong student in math.. try it out and if you are not enjoying the class.. then go to Math 103.

See, I don't know. I have all the same math stats you do (down to the point, actually...which is kinda scary), and I even made it to the AIME twice, and I'm hesitatant about taking 103X. AMC/AIME type questions better represent what an honors class like that entails, I think...creativity and problem solving ability over just using a process. I'm not saying 103X is some sort of impossible class, but with all those tough science classes in your schedule, I'd be wary.

yeah, you should probably add a lab and recitation for egr53

I had everything the same (actually a 35 on the ACT math) and took regular 103. I thought 103 was pretty fair. I guess if you like proofs, then you are set for 103X.

Luke, I think Laichas probably prepared you well. Im guessing you're the Luke that went to IH. PM me if you have any questions

I had a 5 on Calc B/C, 790 on SAT Math 2C, a 35 on ACT math and an A in Calc BC.

Regular 103 was REALLY hard and I struggled to get a B. If you had other easy classes then I would say go for 103X, but EGR 53L and Chem 21L take up a lot of time because they both have lab and recitation.

same, i have 790 SAT 1 and 5 on AB and BC, did decently well on AMC...but I know that I'm not particularly creative in math...so i'm sticking to 103

I had a similar schedule 1st sem. freshman year: Math 103X, Chem 23, EGR53 (with lab/rec!!!!! lol), Writing 20. Having taken 103X, here is my opinion: Having a 5 on calcBC, 36 ACT, 800 Math SAT II is actually relatively standard around here. I had all three of those things and can tell you I struggled to stay afloat in 103X. There aren't really more proofs or anything, I don't know how that rumor got started. The tests are just much, much harder and you'll spend several hours per night on math homework. The trade off is that you'll basically be guaranteed to not get lower than a B (although getting the A will be incredibly hard). In the end was it worth the effort? I think so, but only because the prof I had was one of my favorites ever. It's not like I feel more prepared for engineering classes later on or anything (and it didn't help for math 107 or 108), just had the experience of getting my ass kicked in the class (humbling experiences are always good?) Basically, just decide for yourself whether you want to dedicate the majority of your study time to doing math or not, I think that is the best indicator.

a lot of people will have a similar schedule to your's so you're fine

Good plan on taking Econ 55D instead of Econ 51D. 51D is basically the dept saying they want people to have SOME basic econ background before getting into teh technicalities of 55D. If you got those 5's on the AP's ur more than prepared for 55D. Plus you'll have one of the best professor's in the department - Dr. Nechyba.
