How does my situation look?

I just took my Calc final yesterday and I did ok I guess. The thing is, I'm definitely getting a C in the class so that's going to lower my overall GPA to a 3.37. :( I applied only to UC Davis as a Physics major (non-impacted). Do you think I'll get rejected from Davis because my GPA is kinda low? I mean, my major's non-impacted and I have all my other requirements completed. I'm just worried that my GPA is too low for Davis now. Thanks for your advice guys!

I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference; you still have a very good chance of getting in. What’s your alt. major?

My alternate major is Applied Math but I heard that Davis doesn’t consider most applicants for their 2nd choice major. It’s either you get in for your 1st choice, or you don’t. That’s what I’ve been reading on these forums at least. All my other grades (besides Calc) are all A/A- btw.

Uh, are you still a freshman? Only way an “all A/A-” GPA could drop like that from one C is if you’re still in your first semester. Which might make it harder to get in, since I think priority is given to junior transfers (might be wrong on that, different at different schools).

Or if you just typed something wrong and do have 60 units, you’ve probably still got a chance.

Good luck!

Yes I’m a freshman at UCSC right now but I have a boatload of AP credits so I’ll have junior standing by the end of this Spring (aka, I’m a normal junior transfer). It really sucks how your GPA can waver so much when you don’t have a substantial amount of units under your belt. -____-
