Alright, so I'm going to be a freshman next year in the College of Arts and Sciences (very excited!) and I seem to have a bit of dilemna. I absolutely love studying things like English, Econ, Government, etc. However, I'm also in love with the hospitality/tourism/hotel industry. This summer I have an internship working in event management for my city's convention center and I've really warmed up to the idea of studying this kind of thing. My problem is, I can't do both (can I?). It seems like I have to make a choice in studying what I find mentally stimulating (Arts and Sciences) and what I find fun and exciting (Hotel School). How do I make this decision? Is there any way to somehow incorporate the two? In any case, if I do decide I want to make the switch to the Hotel School, what would be the procedure? I mean, I can definitely show that I'm passionate about it and didn't just try to "backdoor" my way in. I'd have the internship, some good references, and good essays to write if need be. Is this at all possible and if so how do I go about doing it? Any advice, tips, or general comments are greatly appreciated.

Do hotel. You can always take classes in what you love.

There might be a duel degree program between the two schools...I know there is a program between arts and engineering. Maybe there's one for hotel?

I've checked and I don't think there's a dual-degree program.

If I did Hotel and later decided to apply to law school, how much would that hurt me? I mean, colleges see a major as english/econ/philosophy as much more academically rigorous than hotel admin. no?

Assuming I decide to switch, how do I go about it?
