Is the standard to ask each college individually, or is there some space for indicating that on the Common App? If it's the former, when is it appropriate to start asking for an interview? And when can you expect to start doing the interviews for Early Action?

Thanks.

You don’t really ask for interviews. Some colleges (like Stanford) refuse flat out to give interviews, and others (for me, Princeton and Harvard) will contact you and tell you that someone’s going to call to set up an interview. Each school differs as to when they want to talk to you, but don’t worry about it. They’ll get ahold of you via email and phone.

If you just want to talk to an admissions officer or set up an interview separate from the ones that are required by the school, call the admissions office and they can hook you up.
