How does one improve his SAT score drastically?

So, I am only a sophomore in high school, but I have taken the SAT 3 times already, once after 6th grade, once after 7th, and once last January. My score has really remained static, going from 1960 to 1980 to 2010. This is very strange, since my ACT (albeit minus writing) was a 34 in February, and all of my ACT subscores, when converted, beat the respective SAT sections.

Is there any advice for jacking my score up 300 or so points in a year and a half? Thanks in advance

Why are you taking the SAT in 6th, 7th and 10th grade. Why do you need your score to go up so drastically? Did you lose a bet?

Those were just practices to make sure I don’t go in to the test blind. I just have my goals aimed a bit high and want to do my best to achieve them, which is why I want at least a 2300. If it helps any, my recent PSAT’s are in the 220 range

If you have a 34 ACT, why not focus on that instead of the SAT?

I know that I would only need to submit one test, but wouldn’t both give me somewhat of an edge?

@mobywhale Having really high SAT and ACT scores won’t really give you an edge over a really high ACT score. Focus on other parts of life, such as school, activities, etc…

No. Send in one score. Your ACT.

Well, I did not know that before…

Thanks for the help everyone. I’ll just fix my ACT score up and not worry about the SAT

You do need to retake ACT with writing for most competitive schools though. You should focus on ACT instead of trying to improve your SAT. Nevertheless, if you are ready to get 2300+ in SAT, there is nothing to stop you because that would be slightly better than ACT 34. Your SAT attempts in middle school would not be counted against you in the application.

I definitely intend to get ACT to 36 if possible (with writing). I’ll try the SAT once more but if it doesn’t work out, then I’ll just go with the ACT
