how does orientation work?

i'm an international student and have my orientation from the 15th-19th of august.... but it says in many places that the orientation is only for two days.. how does this work? is one assigned to batches? or do u just go whenever you can in the four days??

I don't understand this either. I'm also an international graduate student and on the provisionary schedule it says that 2 sessions or so are mandatory, but the thing is that I also have Annenberg orientation on those days of which everything is mandatory. How does this work?

I think we're receiving an information package soon, but mine hasn't arrived yet.

Another question: move-in day is on Aug 17th, when do we move in because all sorts of orientation events are planned that day?

Thanks!

someone please help us out!!! :P

The two day orientation that you have been hearing about is the freshman orientation. The international orientation is separate and four days long. Concerning move-in, since the orientation starts on the 15th and USC doesn't provide housing for the international orientation, you can move in early on the 15th through early housing which is $25/day. About your conflict with the Annenberg orientation, I think the easiest way to resolve that is to call the department or the office of international students and see what they have to say. If you have any more questions, this website http://sait.usc.edu/orientation/international.htm has a lot of information.

Speaking of orientation, I have a dumb question. Do transfer need to take the placement test?
