How does paying for class work?

When you pay the fees per semester (say, for example, $20000), does that cover all courses taken that semester? Or does it only cover a certain number of credits, and any above that limit must be paid for in addition.

I'm wondering, because I want to take some AEWs, but might not if I have to pay extra for them.

Your tuition covers up to 24 credits a semester...I think, but I don't remember where I heard that. You might want to check up on that though.

I think how many credits you may take depends on the college, probably the difference is between contract and endowed colleges. I'm pretty sure in engineering there is no limit. I was signed up for 26 credits at one point with no problems.

I don't understand, so what you pay does not depend on the courses you take? I pay the same wether I take 1 or 6 courses?

yes...this is why it is to your advantage to take more than 12 credits....you get more value for your dollar.

I see....
But I pay for one semester or for the entire year?

you're billed one semester at a time

You are really helpful dewdrop, thanks!

I was curious about this too and I asked my brother who graduated 2 years ago and he told me that the number of credits does not matter( especially for engineering )

I think I had the 24 credit limit thing stuck in my head from my old college....

The students that need to worry about possible excess charges are CALS students. We are only allowed 55 endowed credits....I think I heard somewhere that ILR and HumEc students don't have this limit.
