How does Penn release decisions?

Do we receive an email with our admission decision or do we need to log into our accounts to view it?

31st March, 5PM EST, decisions page.

When I log in to the decisions page, it says, "We will notify you via postal mail and/or email when your decision is ready." So... they'll send an email at 5 pm March 31st reminding us to check but won't actually reveal the decision?

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to see your decision on the page.

Thanks for posting this. I was quite confused myself, when I saw this "We will notify you via postal mail" thing. I thought they had changed my status to transfer student. So I guess it just means that the decision will appear online, but they will send/e-mail all the necessary documents later on.

Assuming the process for RD is the same as ED...
You'll have to log on to the decisions page, and there'll be a letter there with your decision. A few days later you'll get pretty much the exact same letter in the mail, along with some forms. I didn't get any emails until over a month later informing me of Penn Previews, and another welcoming me to CAS just a few weeks ago.

when did we ever get account info? I explicetly called them about this, and they said that page was for ED applicants and that for RD applicants they would sent out emails...didn't tell me anything about any account info.

You should have gotten a letter in the mail at some point with your login/password. If not, you can request it online:

yeah when I type my email into that i don't get a response.

Oh, hm...that's strange. I seem to remember other (RD) posters here saying it worked for them...

if they only got parts of my app it would make sense for them to at least contact me? It seems funny that I wouldn't get the letter and my email address doesn't work.

goblue10nis- On a postcard that I received quite a while ago, it said that Penn would contact me if anything was missing. You should call the adcoms if you still haven't received your letter. It's getting quite close to the release date.

Same for me. I submit my email address and never get a response. Tried three times. No letter with user id etc. Anyone have any suggestions. I dread waiting for snail mail.

Guys.

My friend had the same problem - he typed in his email address and it said that it wasn't part of the database or whatever. So he called them. And then the woman said she'd check with the webmaster or something..

BUT THEN.

They discovered that they hadn't received his supplement at all! They had apparently received his common app, but not Penn's supplement. So he had to deal with some stuff and then fax it to them, but it's so late now so he said they told him they probably can't send him a decision on time.

Oh, and the stranger part is that he received the blue postcard in the mail too.

So: I suggest you guys to call the admission office ASAP. Just in case.

As for me.. I got the mail with my login info a while back..
