How does recruiting work at stern?

I keep hearing that Stern gets highly recruited by all the major investment banking firms. How exactly does the process work? Could anyone give me a walk through of the timeline (especially the recruitment of summer analysts during the summer after junior yr), how do we apply, and where i could find more information and resources. Thanks.

You're going to have to be more specific. Are you are a HS junior right now? I'm asking to get an idea of how much you know of the subject.

CollectivSynergy, I just transferred into stern and will begin my first semester there this fall as a junior. I'm looking for more informaton on the general recruitment process as it pertains to Stern, aka when the interviews are, where they are held, how to register for them, etc. Thanks.

to sign up for on campus recruiting you first have to attend two seminars, both of which are held almost daily at the carreer center. these two seminars will pretty much tell you how the whole recruiting process works. but in short after you go to these seminars you can apply to the analyst positions via careernet. if the banks are interested they will contact you for an interview, which will most likely be held on campus at the career center or sometimes in their office. people apply until about the end of december or january, and interviews start a little after that. again, those two seminars (which are mandatory to be elgible for on campus recruiting) will tell you all you need to know.

Clarification - for junior year summer internships, there are a few company presentations at the end of the fall semester, but you can only start applying the first week of school after winter break. Most of the large firms have very early deadlines for resume submissions, so be prepared (and make sure you've signed up for on-campus recruiting before winter break!) Interviews are generally February to early April, with usually an on-campus interview, then a super day at the company. Be prepared to have at least the first month of junior year spring sacrificed to internship searching - it is not fun :</p>
