How does registering for classes work at NC State?

Is it by seniority or is it a free-for-all? I was hoping to get late morning or at least early afternoon classes (I’m a morning person haha), but my counselor said that first-years won’t have a lot of leeway for choosing classes because it’s by seniority in most colleges. I know at other schools it’s a free-for-all for all grades, so how does it work at State?

It’s by credit hour/seniority. Exceptions are those with special privileges such as Goodnight Scholars and the Honors Program, but this will only start up during your second semester. If you’re an incoming LSFY major, you’ll be the first of the freshman to register, but otherwise you’ll register at orientation. If you can, get the earliest week possible for orientation if non-LSFY.
