<p>I’m entering as a freshmen for fall of 2012 and I just paid my housing deposit and filled out the housing application. While I was on the housing website, I read that the roommate finder opens up on November 1st. I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be using this because I don’t know anyone going to Bama that I could room with… So I was just curious how the whole roommate finder thing works…</p>

<p>I need help with the whole finding roommates thing, too. Someone just told me that there’ll be facebook groups for class of 2016 students soon, so that’s another option for meeting people. I’ll probably be doing anything there is, since I’m from FL and don’t know a soul.</p>
<p>Yeah I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, and pretty much EVERYONE here goes to either uga or tech … one of my best friends is also going to Bama, but she wants to live in a different dorm than I do…and everyone I’ve talked to has said that rooming with your best friend is the worst mistake you could ever make because you end up hating each other so… I guess there’s plenty of time to figure everything out…</p>
<p>The one on the Bama website works (if I remember correctly) by having you fill out questions and then you’re supposed to be matched with similar kids.</p>
<p>However, I think that students are more successful finding friends/roomies thru Facebook once an Alabama Class of 2016 is formed.</p>

<p>Hmm, yeah. Most of the kids here go to school in FL. The people I know who go out of state usually go to prestigious schools. Are you going to be in the Honors College?</p>
<p>I think I might have a found one group that’s already been created, there’s only like 15 people in it right now though… I asked to join it, so we’ll see what happens with that haha…I meet the requirements for honors, but I have yet to fill out the application 
I know I’m not going to live in honors housing though… I’m wanting to live in Tutwiler because I’ll be rushing and hopefully pledging a sorority… we’ll see how that works out with honors classes haha :)</p>
<p>I’m in that group. I don’t know how helpful it’ll be, though, since there hasn’t been any activity at all. I’m a NMF, so I’ll probably be living in honors housing. Just gotta find some roommates!</p>
<p>I guess the group will pick up as more and more people are accepted throughout the fall…I saw that they had a link to that ■■■■■■■■ website or whatever, I guess I’ll try using that too…</p>

<p>You guys may have to wait a bit at this point; not that many kids have applied, been accepted, and have joined the group just yet. :)</p>

<p>BoxofAwesome: just go to the search bar on facebook and type in “University of Alabama Class of 2016” and it should come up. It’s the one with 15 members.</p>
<p>When I search for the class on Facebook it only has 11 people in it with no recent activity.</p>
