How Does Running Start Work Exactly? + AA Degree question

Hello!

I’m currently a sophomore right now and almost 100% sure that I’m going to do Running Start/ Dual Enrollment at Bellevue College instead of the IB curriculum I have at my school. A huge alluring factor for me is the free tuition (15 credits per quarter) and the possible AA degree (Associates Transfer Degree(?) - Looking to go to UW for CS major). I currently need some clarification on what AA degrees I can get as according to other sources can be very limiting and far off from Computer Science(?) at Bellevue due to the conflict between HS graduation requirements and degree requirements. Thanks!

You can check which RS college courses are accepted as equivalent to courses at UW and other universities that you are interested in.

Students taking college courses while in high school normally apply as frosh unless they graduate high school and then take college courses after graduation.

I did not do running start but after this quarter I will receive an Associate in Arts and Sciences transfer degree and that works with all Washington public schools and degrees. You just have to make sure you take classes that will meet the prerequisites for UW CS while completing that degree. The transfer degree satisfies all the non-major courses at Washington public schools except UW Seattle (you would have to take 2 more humanities courses I think). Just make sure to talk to the Bellevue College advisor for CS. He helped chart out my schedule for my Associates.
