How does sending scores work?

How does the whole sending scores thing work with College Board?
The Rutgers deadline is Dec 1st
I heard it takes a while to send scores.
If they don't have my scores by Dec 1st does that mean I can't get in?
Or do the scores need to be sent before the 1st?

Thank you.

Yes, it does take a while to send your scores, but do not fret. For most colleges as long as you apply (send your application) before the deadline, you are considered for that pool. Scores can usually come a bit later, but the application is the most important. Just send your scores through collegeboard asap, if you haven’t already. Do NOT rush your scores! It is a scam and you’re better off choosing regular.

Scores can arrive after Dec 1 and it will even take tests through Dec test dates for consideration for admission. However, once the application is filed by Dec. 1, the real drop dead date becomes December 15. That is the date by which you need to get test scores in so your file is completed if you want to be considered for any scholarships. If you order scores sent now regular delivery they should arrive on time.
