Like I said, gpa, sats, and sat2s are low…will siemens finalist improve my chances any?

Sorry it was so long…and Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it

Yes, it will increase your chances significantly.

Yes, the seimens will help! I am not going to try to guess chances, though, because your application is uneven - some very good things, some not so hot. The thing that bothers me is that all the schools - except UT - are extremely competitive. Rice is particularly difficult in-state. I think you should be ok at WUSTL and UT. The rest are problematic - you might get one or two, I don't think you will get all.

The SAT II score that concerns me is the chemistry. Any chance of a retake, or are you too far from the material being tested.

i was sposed to retake sat2 bio and chem in october...but then siemens regionals came up..then i was sposed to reschedule to december and then nationals is then...so i dont really have a chance to...

could anyone list out my chances at the schools i'm looking at? i realize my stats are kind of uneven, is there anything i cud do in these last months to balance it out?...essays and recs are going to be outstanding btw..thnx

bump pleasee..

National Finalist is excellent, that's top 6 individual research prize in nation.

Good luck with Siemen's, bro. One of my friends is a national finalist as well, so I hope you don't take him out. Receiving national recognition for research should stand out on your app and make some of your other apparent mistakes less significant, so it definitely sounds promising.

Wayne!! Hey, that's Desh. Smart, smart kid ;) And no, he didn't take me out, I placed one ahead of him :p lol

Dude u guys r crazy this kid will probably get into any school he wants. The SAT's rnt bad and the sat II's could be better but the rest of ur stuff more then makes up for it.
