How does Stanford calculate GPA?

<p>I've read that UC's only allow you eight 5.0 classes before all of your classes are treated as unweighted classes. Are there any special rules like this for Stanford?</p>

<p>My high school GPA isn't too good (A's and sadly too many B's) but on the other hand I've gotten A's in fifteen classes at my local community college which I've heard count as 5.0 classes. There is therefore a huge difference between my weighted and unweighted GPA's.</p>

<p>With regard to weighted AP classes and community college classes, how does Stanford calculate GPA?</p>

<p>They don’t say, but it may be a holistic evaluation instead of a GPA calculation.</p>

<p>You must submit an official high school transcript. Usually your transcript will be submitted with the School Report, but remember it is your responsibility to ensure we receive your transcript. You should also submit official transcripts for any coursework taken at a college or university.</p>

<p>We will focus our evaluation on your choice of coursework and your performance in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, mainly in the core academic subjects of Math, English, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Language.
