How does Stanford recalculate the GPA?

what % is an A? Here it's 86, and there are no +/-

<60% = F
60-69.9% = D
70%-79.9% = C
80%-89.9% = B

A lot of places round up from within .5%, but besides that, if you do it any other way, you're weird. Most places don't bother with +/-, but if you do, it's generally 90-93% would be A-, 93-97% would be a flat A, and 97% and up would be an A+. Etc.

sorry guys, but what about senior year? do they use first semester of senior year in their recalculation of GPA?

does astronomy count as an elective?

^haha, i would think so.

def890,

i believe they use first semester senior year grades if you're RD, although they still consider junior and soph the bulk of their concern. if you're SCEA, then they really wouldn't have time to consider first semester senior year grades since those come out after the SCEA decisions are sent out. decisions are sent out like DEC 15 and most people have just ended or are ending first semester by then.
