Son started Quinnipiac this week and for most part, really likes it.
On the first day of one specific class this week he wasn’t sure how to do something the professor was asking, and when he asked for help, the professor told him “not her problem”.
And our son is not a person who is not exactly good at asking for help either. He really likes his classes and we don’t want to see this one be too much for him (main part being the teacher’s attitude).
Any suggestions on how to change a class or transfer out?
I would encourage your son to have a discussion with the professor during office hours or have one after class to talk about the questions he has and clear this up. If he is looking to add/drop, the deadline is this Friday the 2nd without it being a withdraw on his transcript. This can be accomplished online through self service in his MyQ account. He can also have a conversation with the academic dean of the college/school within the University to discuss any concerns he might have with instruction.
Let me know directly if you have any other questions or concerns. Best,

I wasn’t in the class, and so I wouldn’t be able to conclude whether it was inappropriate or not. Unless it was “bring your parent to class day,” I assume the OP wasn’t there either.
When might I think or respond that a student concern is not my problem? I’ve had students ask basic questions about things that I assume they know already. I’ve had students say that they can’t answer a problem on a quiz unless I tell them how to do the problem. A student once told me that they couldn’t come to class because they didn’t have an umbrella and it was raining hard (that was a grad student.) Another student said they were going to miss class once a week to attend rehearsals for a dance show at a casino. (That student was very good at keeping up with the missed material.) A student started to take the online quiz at the last minute and the window closed before he was finished. A college student on CC claimed she got bad grades because she didn’t want to walk to the nearby library after dinner. A student has two papers due on the same day? These are all things that students are free to share with me, but none of them are my problem.
