I want to study abroad at some time during my undergraduate years, but I am not sure how a student affords this. What kinds of financial aid are there?

Typically the same financial aid that is available at your college (i.e. Pell, Stafford, Perkins, etc). My daughter is in her second semester studying abroad. For some aid, the key is that your university participates as a member or associate member of the study abroad organization. My daughter went through IES for both of her abroad programs and also secured scholarships through IES as well as her university.

My daughters semester abroad tuition wise and room and board was cheaper then her college. Don’t ask about her t raveling costs!!

Do scholarships usually apply?

Many schools allow scholarships to apply to study abroad. Many also guarantee same tuition for study abroad, at least for certain approved programs.

It varies enough that you will have to check each individual school to know.
