How does the ACT compare to the SAT?

Is a 36 on the ACT the same as a 1600 on the SAT? what about a 30 on the ACT?

Everyone seems to use slightly different scales. My logic: SATI (old) scores range from ~400-1600, ACT scores from 1-36. Therefore, each 100-point increase in SAT scores is a 3-point increase on the ACT. This would make the average SATI of around 1000-1050 roughly a 19.

S=(100/3)A+400
A=(3(S-400))/100

I'm not familiar with the new one, but guessing a score range of 600-2400 for the SATI, this makes 1 point on the ACT equivalent to 50 on the new SAT.

S=50A+600
A=(S-600)/50

My scores all seem to fit according to these formulas.

To answer your questions, 36 ACT=1600 old SATI=2400 new SATI.

30 ACT=1400 old SATI=2100 new SATI

Hope this helps!

30 = 1320-1350
36 = 1600
