How does the admissions process work?

When I apply to a uc am I accepted according only to a class of other people with my major or the school which that major is located in?

They will very strongly consider you from the major you’re applying to.

I don’t understand your question.

As the user above mentioned, depending on what college you apply to. For example, Haas will be much more difficult to get into than let’s say forestry. Every UC has certain requirments and somewhat different selection processes.

Well, I mean, do the schools accept you strictly according to your major and your standing among others who have chosen that major that year and are applying or do they accept people based on the school the major is located in (as in school of letters and sciences, etc.)?

If you have all of the requirements complete they compare you to other applicants, which is an important concept - make sure you stand out.
