Can anyone take classes at claremont or have a major in claremont mckenna if they go to a school like scripps (like is there a minimum HS GPA that is required to major in business there?)
I want to take classes there, but I definitely won’t be able to get in with my low-ish gpa. But I am considering applying to scripps b/c I love the college setting and want to double major in political science at scripps and international business at Claremont. Would my diploma still come from scripps, or both claremont and scripps?
If you attend Scripps you can major off campus (in your example CMC) if Scripps does not offer the major. There is no minimum GPA.
Your diploma would be from Scripps. You would be a Scripps student (meaning you have to fulfill the Scripps requirements such as core, live on campus etc.).
If your major is at Scripps, you can still take some of your classes at any of the other schools. My D is at Scripps and has taken courses at all the schools except Pitzer. My S is at Mudd and is currently taking a music class at Scripps. Cross registration is very easy because everyone registers at the same time on the same portal.
