How does the Common Application Work

<p>Until July 1st, the common application is closed, so im forced to wait to apply to schools such as NYU and Boston College.</p>

<p>Can someone tell me how the process works for applying to these schools? When you fill out the common app do you just check off which schools you are applying to, or what?</p>

<p>I am going to apply for Spring 10'...the deadline is Nov 1st but i am going to apply in July. How long does it take for them to process applications? Will i find out before the summers over or is it just stored until they look at applications after the deadline?</p>

<p>It’s pretty straight-forward - what are you confused about?</p>

<p>Unless the school says they admit on a rolling basis, you won’t hear back from them until after the deadline has passed.</p>

<p>You will probably not find out until mid/late December EVEN if you apply in July. They will compile your application but they really start looking at them all in November as not all students will have access to recommendation letters/official transcripts/statements of good standing.</p>
