My counselor tells me that it is impossible for her to send a school profile/transcripts to the schools I'm looking at through the CommonApp because the site says it allows a 250(?)kb transcript and ours is too large. She doesn't know how to work the thing and neither do I. She also says it won't let her print it to mail it to the schools..what can we do?

Also on one teacher's recommendation it says that it was started on Dec 16 but isn't finished, she told me yesterday that she finished it the day after Christmas. Why isn't it working?

At my son’s school it is the student’s responibility to fill in his portion of the HS couselor section, print it out and give it in to the Guidance Dept. The couselor fills it in and makes copies that are sent(Snail mail) with the transcript, to each school your child applies to. This package would include teacher recs. This is how our HS has worked it out to do it. They had a night early in the fall for parents and students to go over the whole thing. We have a fairly large student body and they process 10,000 apps. Some things just have to go regular mail.

Download the forms you need here:

The counselor will need the Secondary School Report now, and the Midyear and Final Reports later.

Print them, fill out what you can, and hand them to your counselor. Preferably with pre-addressed stamped envelopes and sticky notes identifying the due dates.

It sounds like your teacher may not have submitted her rec. After she’s finished with it, she needs to do something to submit it (probably a big yellow button to click, but I’m guessing at that part). If she’s positive she’s done that, then you can submit a ticket (see the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/common-application/628910-urgent-common-app-problem-check-here-first.html thread for details). Or she could just print it out and mail it in.
