How does the G.I. Bill work for the Ivies?

<p>So, I talked to a national guard recruiter about the G.I. Bill and I don't really understand it. So for a state school, they fund 100% tuition. What about the ivies, does the G.I. Bill pay 100% tuition for those schools? How does the G.I. Bill work for the ivies?</p>

<p>do not trust gi bill.....from what ive heard...it does not even provide full money for books and stuff...gi bill is getting crappy...do not trust recruiter.....and my teachers dont like the guest speaker(recruiter) either..becuase of inaccurate information about what they do...research some news and you will find tons of bad publicity easily...</p>

<p>dnduswo is right on. The GI Bill is extremely limited. It might cover the LEAST expensive state school in your state -- it's a very small bucket of money -- not a guarantee to meet any school's obligations. The number of vets eking their way through school while their family is on Food Stamps is just shameful.</p>

<p>Go back and ask the recruiter: If you were accepted out of state to UMich (very expensive), would it be covered fully? How much money would you receive?</p>

<p>dont go to military just because they pay your education...they can change any promise according to country's needs..its backed up by the law and they can do whatever they want to you..i will tell you this...
my history teacher is very respectful to military and others who serve for other's goods..and his son was promised not to kill anyone(for example, not going to iraq) while he serve and to be a computer specialist or whatever..however they broke the promise because of the country's need...and he always tell students that go to military if you really want to serve...not because of money for education..
this anecdote is not about education but this tells you what they can do...</p>

<p>I think the Bill is capped @ 10k annual, though it's +/- depending on location/school. I'd check with the schools the military provides the most money for, and work from there. Expect very limited options...: (</p>

<p>Everyone else: DO NOT join the military under the promise of education. Go to Israel if you want to do military/education. ; )</p>
