What is it? How do you get it? I've already been accepted to Fordham EA, but didn't specify anything about the program. Is it really competitive?

It's like applying to an Ivy but worst - I believe! You have to be an exceptional student all throughout H.S. and have phenomenal grades in your SAT's, Acts, and everything in between, lol. Only about a dozen students get accepted per year, and those cats spend the next four years taking the hardest possible classes Fordham has to offer for the distinct recognition of graduating as an honors level student, which in turn, kicks major-ass if you plan to move on to grad school and/or make the big money out in the real world.

That's what it is, in a nut-shell!

how do you get accepted....not like im going to get in ... ijust want to know

You have to be invited.

I was told it varies year to year, but they try to pick students with about 1300-up SAT scores and they can lean heavier in verbal. The gentleman that runs it said they would rather have it even or 700-up in verbal because of all the writing involved. He said they take about 25 and the class's are under 15. From what I've heard/read on their forums some students have had lower stats in the past (1270 or 1280) but all seemed over 1250. The reasoning was that a lot of students turn it down and dont want the even more limited core or extra reading/writing. My hair dressers daughter did that 2 years ago, wanting to adjust with less stress. Another male student wrote me last year when I inquired about it and loved it. The class's help make friendships and you get some extra perks. I'm sure you get the best teachers and I think there is a small house where you have meetings and can study for the honors students.
