How does the HS you go to affect admissions??

I go to a pretty ****ty HS, and I think the regional admissions dude would prolly realize that...so I totally was thinking it would hurt me.

BUT my college consultant dude said that it actually helps you if you go to a worse school because they see that you have succeeded (i.e. through test scores&what not) even though you haven't been given many opportunities.

Which do you think is the case?? THANKS DUDES :)

<3nik

since colleges rank high schools, it may help you if you go to a better HS, but you won't be penalized for it. if you go to a better HS that may explain why your GPA is lower than kids who go to inner-city schools or whatever.
