how does the loan/grant work?

I'm a college noobie and I'm paying my tuition with grants and loans..
I signed up for everything (gov mpn & agreement, etc..)
master that they require for my loan
including the school loan (i think it was called the perkins loan?)..
but I am still not informed or maybe
I was really careless and missed it or did not read the form carefully of how am I getting the money? Do they notify you
before few days that they will send you the money through a checking account?
or is it strictly all prepaid for tuition through the school?

If you go to your MyVT site, it should show how much you owe under Personal Info. If the number is in parentheses, that means you are refunded that amount and you owe nothing (for now). If you haven’t signed up for direct deposit (so the refunded money goes directly into your bank account ASAP) you should do so, otherwise the refunded money will be mailed to your home as a check.

I see… and when does this money process usually happen?? few days before classes?

If you’ve dealt with all of the financial aid stuff (master’s promissory note, etc.) then you should get the money a week before classes start.

thanks dfmlege
