How does the Spring 16 transfer work?

If I don’t get in for the fall 16 semester I want to try one more time by applying for the spring 16 semester, will I have to take summer school to raise my GPA or do they also look at my fall grades. Will they wait for my final transcript to see my fall grades before their decision to admit? The application is due in October so I don’t see how my fall 16 grades will factor into the spring 16 application.

You mean Spring 2017 correct? What’s your current GPA and which major within UT are you trying to transfer into? They may accept your before the end of the Fall semester if you have 30 hours and a high enough gpa. If you’re not an exceptional candidate you may have to wait for Fall grades to be factored in before you get a decision. Summer classes are always a good idea if you’re trying to raise your GPA as they’re typically easier in my opinion.

@danfer91 yes sorry I meant Spring 17, by the end of the current semester my GPA will be 3.53 and I am trying to transfer to COLA for Economics.

Economics will be tough with a 3.53. I would suggest taking some summer courses and acing them to raise your GPA. And next semester you really need to try your best to get a 4.0. Even with this you won’t be a lock though, it’s an uphill climb with your current GPA and the fact you’ll probably be taking harder courses this last semester.
