How does the University of Michigan react to senioritis?

My grades have dropped dramatically since I got accepted, my grades have dropped at least 10-20 points in every subject and I wanna know how the University of Michigan would react. Do anyone know?

As long as GPA since is over 3.0, and you do not have any grade less than C you are fine. If your GPA dropped below 3.0 or if you have a D in a core subject, you could be asked to write a brief explanation. If your GPA drops significantly below 3.0 or if you have more than one D in a core subject, you could be put on probation. Michigan rarely rescinds offers, but it can happen if your last semester GPA drops too low.

The teachers at our high school told a horror story of a boy whose acceptance was rescinded. He managed to get himself out of that mess, but it was definitely not worth the hassle. It would be much better to just keep your grades in the A-B range to be safe.

LOL BS… my GPA went down to like 2.6 my last semester and didnt even get contacted, not even my Ross preadmit was rescinded.

^You went to some top private school though, so your 2.6 was better than most other people’s 2.6.

Keep in mind that I went to a public school, and our classes are easier, so our grades dropping is a big deal.

point is there is no specific rescind system. They look at every case and determines. So if you have a good enough excuse you are fine.

Well of course it’s case by case; it’s case by case with admissions too. But it’s a lot less of a hassle simply to keep your grades up. Keeping A’s and B’s is extremely easy, especially at my school, knowing the blowoff classes that seniors usually take and how much extra credit the teachers dole out to give as many senior exemptions as possible.
