How does the UT Austin Top Ten Program Work?

UT is auto accept the top 7% of students in their school. I’m 7.1% am Im in or not?

You’re not an auto admit in that case. You would be a review admit. Whether you get accepted or not would depend on what major you are applying to, your test scores, ec’s, etc.

Are you in state (Texas)? For fall 2017, the cut off is Top 7% for instate applicants. The rule does not apply to out of state applicants.

@Thelma2 I’m guessing from his username that he’s in-state.

  1. It's not the "Top 10".
  2. If you are in the top 7% of your graduating class you are guaranteed admission into UT...but NOT into the major of your choice. So let's say you apply to Engineering...you may or may not be admitted into engineering. They may say "congrats, you are admitted as an X major."

I have a similar question. I know that auto admits are the top 7%. I am 7.4 % of my class. Is that considered an auto admission since it rounds to 7%?
