How does this affect admissions decisions?

I was filling out the common app today (a bit early, I know) when I came across the “future plans” section. At the moment, I’ve filled the section in with the following responses to the two questions it includes:

Career Interest
Policymaker/Government

Highest degree you intend to earn
Undecided

Can anyone out there tell me whether responses to these questions will matter at all to universities? And if so, how?

If there’s a chance that some choices will hurt a portfolio, is it better to give no answer or mark “undecided” for both questions?

The ‘Future plans’ section on the Common App has little to no effect on admission decisions. What you’ve filled out is perfectly fine; don’t worry about it.
