COunselors almost always defer to the lowest common denominator. But if you are capable of doing intellectually and willing to sacrifice an inordinate amount of time, then do it. When I began at my CC, I sacrificed almost all of my leisure time in order to accomplish my goals. Now that I am on the verge of transferring, I am so happy I did.

True. I’ve turned down several invites for fun outings usually to get ahead in my studies. While it totally sucked then, I’m glad I did now that I look back. But that’s awesome, and I’m excited for you! Where will you be going?</p>

trig isn’t even UC transferable so unless you’re aiming for grad schools /med school all you really need is a C.

Med school <em>is</em> the goal, haha.</p>

You could choose to take Trig on a Credit/No-Credit basis…then you wouldn’t have to worry about getting a good grade in Trig because all you’ll need is a >70%. Then you could focus on getting an A in Chem…assuming Chem is UC-transferable. If neither class is UC-transferable you could just take both Credit/No-Credit and just coast through them.</p>

<p>I just took Trig this Winter btw, I chose to take it for a letter grade and got an A. It was quite time-consuming, but you just need to be on top of your workload. It’s a good class to take for a short session because there isn’t that much material and it isn’t too hard to understand. This is coming from someone who graduated high school not knowing how to factor polynomials…lol. So don’t think Trig is an incredibly hard short-session class, it’s not.

Holy hell, that’s a genius idea! General Chemistry is UC transferable and will be one of my major’s pre-requisites, so I plan on taking that for a letter grade. But doing that simultaneously with Trig for pass/no pass this summer sounds like a solid plan.</p>

<p>And I feel ya on graduating high school with very little knowledge on Algebra; I didn’t know how to do the most basic things either, but it comes to me REALLY easy these days, and I’m thankful I started off in a Beginner’s Algebra type of class to build a strong foundation before I take on the harder math classes.</p>
