This year,I have not challenged my self and I have only taken 3 APs... This is what I want to take next year:
AP Physics C
AP Calc BC
AP English Lit
AP Psychology
AP Stats
AP Human Geo
then self study (over summer):
AP Government
AP Econ?
How does this sound? Any suggestions? Is this doable? I have heard that pysch, stats, and human geo are easy... so am I essentially only taking 2 hard APs and one medium-level (english)? Thanks!

If you’re in your senior year, then no. It’s just pointless, in my opinion. Take 3 (5 max). This is all of course assuming you’re studying it to gain admission.

well, this will be my senior year. I just felt really bored this year. 3 would be WAY to little. 5 sounds good, but I would like to take 6 to raise my GPA (want to be top 1%). As for the summer work, I always do some school work over the summer lol. Might as well get some credit while Im at it

Why do you want to be in the top 1%? And, if you are willing to work hard, it’s okay I guess.

I guess I want to be top 1% because many of the top colleges look at that. Also, I want to be able to graduate at the top of my class. It really is an accomplishment if I can pull it off =)

I think you are taking to many APs, even for a senior. Psych, Human Geo, and Stats may be easy to pass but they still might require a lot of reading and studying for and Senior Year will be very time consuming with College and everything. I’d say stick with the APs you are most interested in, like if your interested in Economics try AP Statistics, AP Government and AP Economics, or if your interested in the Humanities try Human Geography, Psychology, and English.

yeah, I c what u are saying. Still, I feel that Geo, stats, and psych are comparable to regular classes I am taking this year (US history, pre-calc 2) and the APs are a little harder than this year (AP Lang, AP Bio, APES). Really, I am only worried about AP Physics… and maybe BC. I am a good math student, and that is why my teacher selected me to be the few to take the advanced class— so I should do fine in math. That is my thinking. As for the self studying, I have too much time on my hands in the summer…

bump… anyone else care to help =)?

I think that colleges aren’t going to see that you self-studied over the summer, they’ll just see… nothing. i.e., it will look like you didn’t do anything worthwhile during the summer.

well, I will still be doing some summer volunteering so it wont be a complete “waste” lol

bump… any other suggestions?

Yeah, Psych is really easy I thought, and have heard Stats is too.

Calc and English aren’t hard either, didn’t do that much homework for them. AP exams for those and for Gov are easy also.

iluvpiano-thanks!
