How does tritonplus work alongside meal points

I think you can use your ID card to spend meal points at places on campus, right?

But I want to get a tritonplus and use it just for laundry/printing. But i hear tritonplus is on your ID card as well

So when you swipe the card, do you get to choose to spend meal points or tritonplus dollars.

Basically, I want to use meal points for food....and tritonplus for laundry/printing.

you have to tell them to use triton plus or they dont use... thats what they told me... but can you use a debit card instead of a credit card to deposit money?????

so basically, when you swipe your card at any cafe/food place on campus, they deduct your meal points by default? that sounds good then

its meal points by default..if you want to use triton plus at the dining halls you just tell them that =D

trionplus acts like a debit card/account ....

can u use a debit card instead of a credit card to deposit money on the triton plus card?

Why the hell would you use tritonplus instead of meal points at the dinning halls?
Trust me, you don't want to do that. Go spend it elsewhere. Go to Islands; it takes tritonplus.

i'm really confused...what's the difference...can someone explain it very clearly to me? thanks

The meal plan is included with the housing contract. You're able to use the meal points at any of UCSD's dining halls.

Tritonplus acts pretty much like a debit card. You put money on the card and use it for all types of things on campus as well as off campus (e.g. Islands, and other places where the meal plan points aren't accepted). Tritonplus is especially useful for laundry as you don't have to carry around quarters; you just swipe your card at the washer/dryer.

I wasnt planning on using tritonplus at the dining halls. Like i said in my first post, I only want to use it for laundry/printing.

I wasn't talking to you

she was talking to me. thanks 16399. but i'm still a little confused. is it two different cards? or what...

No. Your I.D. card acts as your meal points card AND tritonplus if you choose to deposit money into that.

so basically at the dining places you can subtract from the 2100 meal points you start with, or take money away from your account (which would be silly). right?

Right .

2100 meal points is for the whole year right?

yep (10char)

How much does a meal usually cost?

Obviously, it depends on how much/what you eat.

Plus, I'm betting food prices are going up this upcoming year.

is there anyway we can keep track of how many meal points we should have throughout the year? like a chart to check against?
